Ethiopia Sidama Deri Kochoha - from Sweet Marias Sept 2012

Flavor:

Good chocolate notes with wheat and floral. Good Mouthfeel

Acidity:

Low

Roast Level:

I roast to Full City/Full City Plus

Ok so I have decided to actually start reviewing some of the coffee's I roast. I got a Behmor 1600 back in September from Sweet Marias and it came with a sample of 8 1 lb coffees. This coffee, part of that sample pack, the Ethiaopia Sidama Deri Kochoha I liked a lot. It isn't a peaberry sized bean, but it is fairly small, and dense.

I took Sweet Maria's recommendation and roasted to Full City Plus on the 1st try. This coffee roasts FAST. I have roasted several batches and this one roasted by far the fastest of them. I think it was at least 1-2 minutes faster to Full City than the others. After a 24 hr rest, i brewed up some in my french press and it had very good flavor and a low acidity with a good mouthfeel. After another 24 hrs (48 total) I roasted another batch and it was completely smooth. This is one of the smoothest coffee's I have tasted and excellent mouthfeel.

I don't know if future crops will be this good but this one will be on my list as a must get when I am ready to make another order.

I've never tried the Ethiopia

I've never tried the Ethiopia Sidama Deri Kochoha. But still, either the etiophian or the costa rica coffee beans, are the best beans in the world. I've tried many types of coffee, but those two are the best, at least in my opinion. So I'm sure that this coffee is also really good.
Thanks for the review!
